Harold and Maude

One of our favorite romantic dramas is a film about the love between a 19-year-old boy and a 79-year-old woman, but most importantly, it is about the indomitable love for life.

Harold is a strange teenager from a wealthy family whose favorite pastime is shocking his mother with inventive staged suicide attempts. Maude is a former concentration camp prisoner who is forever young and passionately in love with life in all its manifestations. She teaches Harold to feel the world, involves him in her crazy adventures, and ultimately saves him from loneliness.

"Harold and Maude" is a funny and heart-wrenching film that leaves behind an amazingly bright aftertaste. It is filled with the air and freedom of the early 1970s, music, humor, anarchy, and joyful sadness or sad joy.

The film did not receive any awards, but the American Film Institute honored it with 9th place on the list of "10 Best Romantic Comedies" and 45th place on the list of "100 Funniest American Films in 100 Years." It is included in the American National Film Registry for its cultural, historical, or aesthetic significance.
