Hang, Sand & Cosmic Sound: A Multimedia Performance at SKENE Theatre

On April 26 at 20:00, Tbilisi’s historic underground theatre invites you to an immersive audiovisual performance — a journey through the aesthetics of music and visual art.

✨ The magical sound of the Hang ensemble: 12 handpans, saxophone, and vocals will create a meditative and atmospheric sonic space. The soft tones of the handpan are known for their calming and therapeutic qualities.

🎨 One of Georgia’s leading sand animation artists, Nona Giunashvili, will create a live visual story in sand, unfolding in sync with the music.

🎧 Special guest — sound therapy specialist Tornike Chagalidze, adding a deeper, more spiritual dimension to the evening.

This is a unique, unconventional event format, presented for the first time in Georgia exclusively for SKENE audiences.

The historic space of SKENE resonates perfectly with the sound of handpans, offering a full escape from everyday reality.

🍷 Wine tasting is included in the ticket price!

Location

Tbilisi
Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of around 1.2 million people. Tbilisi was founded in the fifth century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Because of its location at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, and its proximity to the lucrative Silk Road, throughout history, Tbilisi has been a point of contention among various global powers. To this day, the city's location ensures its position as an important transit route for energy and trade projects. Tbilisi's history is reflected in its architecture, which is a mix of medieval, neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist, and Modern structures. Historically, Tbilisi has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, though its population is overwhelmingly Eastern Orthodox Christian.
