She spent 47 years in the desert, contemplating, repenting, and forgiving. Her wanderings in the desert serve as a metaphor, showing each of us the hope to renew and rise spiritually. Mary of Egypt's experiences, emotions are similar to those of many women in our time: violence, exploitation, and constant search for pure, bright love.
