GIORGI MIKADZE JAZZ TRIO “Georgian Songbook” Vol. 1

On December 29, an unforgettable jazz evening will take place in the Grand Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. The internationally acclaimed musician and Berklee College of Music professor Giorgi Mikadze will present his exclusive project “Georgian Songbook Vol.1.”

“Georgian Songbook” is a unique musical project created under Giorgi Mikadze’s original concept. It features masterpieces of film and theatre music by the brilliant Georgian composers of the 20th century — works that belong to the golden fund of Georgian musical heritage.

The goal of the project is to popularize Georgian musical legacy and enrich it with elements of contemporary jazz. Accordingly, each piece in the album is arranged by Giorgi Mikadze in the format of a classic jazz trio.

The musical album GIORGI MIKADZE TRIO — "Face to Face", Georgian Songbook Vol.1 was recorded in 2023 at one of Paris’ prestigious recording studios — Studio SEXTAN. The project has been performed with great success on major stages around the world and has received extensive, highly positive reviews from leading jazz critics and publications. During the festive New Year season, this unique music will become available to Georgian audiences as well.
