The Georgian Tourism Association's 6th Annual International Conference "Tourism and Education" serves as a professional platform bringing together representatives of the private sector, public institutions, international organizations, higher education institutions, and vocational education providers.
Through this event, the Association aims to strengthen cooperation between the tourism industry and educational institutions, identify sector needs, plan joint future initiatives, develop innovative collaboration models aligned with international standards, and formulate a shared action plan for skills development in the tourism and hospitality sector.
The conference will feature the presentation of the Tourism and Hospitality Skills Needs Assessment conducted by the Georgian Tourism Association, including an analysis of the research findings and key recommendations.
The conference provides a platform where the three key sectors — private, public, and educational institutions — will join efforts to support the development of human capital in the tourism and hospitality industry.
The event will be organized in two thematic sessions, bringing together representatives from different sectors. In the concluding part of the conference, a workshop and social dialogue session will be held, where, based on the outcomes of both sessions, participants will collaboratively develop a joint action plan for skills development in the tourism and hospitality sector and define future priorities for cooperation.
The second part of the conference will be facilitated by British skills development expert Jane (Rexworthy) Whitehart OBE, Managing Director of FIOL and Chartered FCIPD.
Invited participants include Georgian Tourism Association members, employers, partner organizations, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, donor organizations, GIZ, GCCI, GNTA, higher education institutions, vocational colleges, and other key stakeholders.
Now in its sixth year, the conference has become one of Georgia's leading annual platforms for collaboration between the tourism and education sectors.
The event is supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
