Georgian Museum of Fine Arts
The Georgian Museum of Fine Arts houses the private collection of the family of Gia Jokhtaberidze and Manana Shevardnadze. The exhibition spans the last 80 years of Georgian art, covering both the Soviet and post-Soviet periods. The collection is unique, as this body of Georgian art is presented in such scope only in this museum.
The museum features over 3,500 works by around 100 artists. Spread across three floors, the collection includes paintings, graphic works, sculptures, and various art objects. Organized chronologically, the exhibition reflects key historical periods: socialist realism, the Thaw, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Cold War, the civil war, and independent Georgia.
