Flight LP 43-20

“Flight LP 43-20” is a play based on “Watchdogs” by Romanian author Lucian Belianu.

This dramatic story, filled with human suffering and emotional trauma, unfolds at an airport.

The plot centers on two airport employees — an elderly man known as Uncle Zhora and a young man named Pavle — who are approached by a stranger named Diana. She asks them to help her reach the aircraft preparing to depart for Lisbon.

Diana is desperate. For three months, she has heard nothing from her husband, who left for Lisbon in search of work.

What will the airport employees do? How will Diana's fate unfold?

And, more broadly, what does life have in store for ordinary people burdened by everyday struggles and problems? A life that seems suspended in midair, with no solid ground beneath it.

Director Andro Enukidze explores this timeless question of human existence and the fleeting nature of life. Echoing the words of Ecclesiastes, “Vanity of vanities,” the play reminds us that perhaps nothing is more eternal than impermanence itself.
