Since 2014, the Russian-Ukrainian war has been a central theme in Ukrainian cinema. Which is extremely important, because we need to show the world at what price our freedom is earned. This Saturday we will also join the initiative to show what war is like through Ukrainian cinema and show you two Ukrainian films: "Russification in pop style", "Long Day".
"Russification in Pop Style" is a documentary about how Russia has been using popular culture as a weapon against Ukraine for decades. Together with industry participants, the film's narrator, musician Albert Tsukrenko, explores the financial, political and psychological reasons for the vulnerability of Ukrainian artists and considers how to break this vicious circle. Unfortunately, the "bullets" in this weapon are our Ukrainian talent.
"Long Day" is a documentary journey into the life of Ukrainians during the war. Each story is a movie that our characters made on their devices. This project is not just another film about war. A unique display of the tragic events and crimes of Russia through the eyes of Ukrainians, which the whole world should see and feel.
