Family - Relationships, Boundaries, and Inheritance

On July 9, a panel discussion will be held at the Academy of Thought on the topic: "Family - Relationships, Boundaries and Inheritance". The topic concerns the most fundamental experience of each person's life.

The family is a person's first social and emotional environment, where our ideas about love, closeness, freedom, responsibility, relationships with ourselves and others are formed. However, the same family event can be understood differently by different psychotherapeutic directions.

The meeting will be led by Keti Dalinkevich, head of the Mental Health Center "Integra" of the Academy of Thought, and psychotherapists: psychoanalyst Giorgi Chanturia, existential psychotherapist Nia Dzeria and Gestalt therapist Elene Bachiashvili.

Within the framework of the discussion, psychotherapists from "Integra" will discuss family topics from their own theoretical and practical perspectives. Participants will have the opportunity to see how each direction explains the difficulties, conflicts and development opportunities that arise in the family.

The main value of the discussion is precisely the introduction to different psychotherapeutic perspectives. How does psychoanalysis view the unconscious dynamics of the family? What does existential psychotherapy offer us in terms of freedom, choice and responsibility? How does Gestalt therapy explain the process of contact, boundaries and relationships? What place does the psychodynamic approach give to love, personal growth and human transpersonal potential.
