Description

On June 20 and 21, the Philharmonic Hall will host concerts by the ensemble “Georgian Voices”!

More than ten years have passed since the last solo concert by "Georgian Voices". Now, the ensemble returns with a new repertoire — and, as they say, with “well-forgotten classics.” Each member dedicates this return to their great spiritual mentor, who taught them — then just little boys — to sing and love Georgian music in the grey Tbilisi of the 1990s. Through these concerts, they send their gratitude from the stage to those dear names — Gogi, “Bardgha,” “Tavgasa,” Uncle Zaurika, Mr. Gia, the great “Kevkho,” the great Anzor — the Big Guys.

The musical concept of the evening includes songs once performed masterfully by great artists. These pieces will be presented in new versions, on the stage of the Philharmonic, where the ensemble will once again revive the music of our beloved Georgian composers.

The concert program will be performed with a live band led by composer Keti Gabisioni.

Location

Tbilisi Concert Hall
Tbilisi Concert Hall (Tbilisi State Philharmonic) is a concert organization located on Merab Kostava Street, 36/1. This is one of the main attractions of the capital of Georgia. The largest concerts and important cultural events with the participation of local and foreign performers are held on the stage of the Philharmonic. The Philharmonic Concert Hall was built in 1971 according to the design of the architect I. Chkhenkeli. At the beginning of the 21st century, the hall was completely renovated. The Philharmonic Concert Hall has a main hall with 2,500 seats and a small hall with 750 seats. In 2001, a “Walk of Stars” was set up near the Philharmonic building, among those represented were the founder of the Georgian National Ballet Nino Ramishvili, the famous singer Nani Bregvadze, violinist Liana Isakadze, vocal and instrumental ensembles “Orera” and “Iveria”, composer Bidzina Kvernadze, artists Eter Kakulia, Teimuraz Tsiklauri and others. In 2014, the Philharmonic was named after composer Alexi Machavariani. In front of the hall there is a bronze sculpture “Muse” by sculptor Merab Berdzenishvili.
