The performance unfolds around events in a boarding school, where an honest priest and teacher is unjustly suspected of a vile crime. False accusations destroy his reputation and career.
In today’s world, where information spreads instantly and defamation has become commonplace, we seem to forget a crucial truth: the devastating impact false allegations can have on an innocent person. The aim of the performance is to explore this issue and remind the audience of the consequences even a single lie can cause. What stance should we take when we hear outrageous accusations against a colleague? And how important is the fight for truth, even when it threatens to cast a shadow over ourselves?
The production is built around three central themes: doubt, rumor, and faith. The poisoned mind of the main character, Sister Aloysius — capable of seeing corruption everywhere — is confronted by Father Flynn, guided by Christian ideals and devoted to the values of hope and love. Much of the performance relies on direct interaction between the actors and the audience, allowing viewers to become active participants in the story and to decide for themselves whether the accused is guilty.
