One-act performance
(based on Darispanis Gasachiri)
This is a century-old story about Darispan, who tirelessly takes one of his four unmarried daughters from place to place — visiting friends, relatives, in-laws, and neighbors — hoping to find her a suitable husband and secure her future.
Both tragic and ironic, the story is filled with deep love for a country that was “killed but never died.” It mirrors the fate of Georgia itself: like Darispan, the country searches for solutions elsewhere — in others’ help, in “marrying off,” in the illusion of a comfortable life that returns like a boomerang and brings even deeper despair.
What matters more — freedom or a life without worries?
Together with the audience, the director and actors will try to find a path that may help save the future of Darispan’s family and, at the same time, the future of Georgia.
