The immortal prose works of David Kldiashvili, by virtue of their distinctive nature, have long attracted—and continue to attract—the interest of Georgian (and international) theatre. The Batumi Drama Theatre is no exception.
Director Giorgi Kashia, in collaboration with Valeri Otokhozoria, has created a stage adaptation of Darispan’s Trouble. Classics remain classics because, in any era, they reveal reality from a new angle and with a fresh perspective. Kldiashvili’s Darispan travels from generation to generation, carrying both comedy and tragedy, unrelenting pain and timeless reflection.
