The magnate's death causes a stir in society, and a group of journalists set out to find out who he really was and what he experienced during his long, full of ups and downs, life... And what does "rosebud" actually mean?

What is "Citizen Kane"? This is not just a scathing satire on the media business and the world of big capital. not just a parody of "yellow" journalism. not just a ruthless analysis of the state of pre-war American society. not just a reflection on what power can give and what it will inevitably take away. This is a film about the fact that a person (any person) is unfathomable, like that very untranslatable rosebud. To know the dictionary meaning of a word or to find out its etymology does not mean to understand.

Incomparable and inexplicable are not only Citizen Kane but also its creator, who made a dozen masterpieces in his life but never surpassed his debut.
