In the mid-19th century, in Ireland, a nurse named Lib arrives in a small village. The reason is unusual: a miracle. Eleven-year-old Anna has not eaten anything for several months and claims to be nourished by heavenly manna. But Lib is not easily convinced; she is a skeptic who only believes in science and is determined to prove that the girl is lying.
The director said: “This film is about the collision of common sense and magic, science and extreme religiousness, spiritual and intellectual elasticity, and fanaticism. What do you believe in? Are you firm in your convictions? Or are you willing to change, adapt, and evolve as a viewer? Although all the characters in the story are fictional, the themes raised here are real. This story could have happened in the 19th century, but it could just as easily happen today.”
