Description

At the Tbilisi State Concert Hall — Philharmonic, the “Tsiskvili” Theater presents the legendary musical "Chicago".

“Chicago” is a kind of circus — a dazzling show with clowns and puppets, false love and true hatred. 32,500 performances and more than 32 million viewers — that’s the record of this musical.

Now Georgia, Tbilisi, and its audience are part of the global map of “Chicago”.

The musical is based on the 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, which itself reflects real events of that era. Watkins was a crime reporter for the Chicago Tribune, and used real stories from the criminal chronicles as inspiration. The main characters are based on real-life women — murderers from Chicago: Belva Gaertner and Beulah Annan.
