Description

On October 12, at the Batumi Summer Theatre, “Tsiskvili Theatre” will present the legendary musical “Chicago.”

Chicago is a unique spectacle - a theatrical circus filled with breathtaking performances and visual wonders, clowns and marionettes, false love and true hatred. With 32,500 performances and over 32 million viewers, this record-breaking musical has truly become a global phenomenon.

Now, Georgia, Tbilisi, and its audience proudly appear on the world map of Chicago.

The musical is based on the 1926 play of the same name by Maurine Dallas Watkins, which in turn was inspired by true events of that era. Watkins, a crime reporter for the Chicago Tribune, used real-life murder cases as the foundation for her story. The main characters are based on two actual women from Chicago - accused murderers Belva Gaertner and Beulah Annan.

Don't miss this unforgettable, two-act performance brought to life by one of the most innovative theatres in the region.
