"Brahmin and the Witch" is based on the famous Indian fairy tales - "Brahmin and The Magician”, “The Brahman and the Wild Geese” and “Anthuram and Santhuram”.

The play takes you on a journey to distant India with an English teacher and his three children, where you will learn about exotic culture, oriental wisdom and the magical world.

The plot revolves around the Brahmin’s beautiful daughter, Basanta. The goal of the teacher, Elizabeth, who has come from England, is to make Basanta smile.

The main plot of the play is also the forbidden love story of the servant Somilaka and Charlotte, which will take you to the colorful, magical world of fairy tales and immerse you in the atmosphere of a “real Indian midsummer night’s dream”, where reality and fantasy are intertwined.

Nodar Dumbadze Theater (ნოდარ დუმბაძის თეატრი)
In 1928 Alexander Takaishvili created the Georgian Theater of the Young Spectator. The premiere of the first performance "Fritz Bauer" (N. Sats) took place on 11 November. It was followed by performances: "Robin Hood" (S. Zayatsky), "The Man in Black Glasses" (V. Kurdyumov), "Hiawatha" (N. Ognev) and others. Spectators watched the performances with great interest. The success of these performances is the merit of the artists: G. Kuprashvili, T. Tvaliashvili, G. Darispanashvili, M. Ergneli, a little later: V. Areshidze, I. Ninua, A. Kachkachishvili, N. Sirbiladze, D. Tskhakaia, N. Khorava, M. Dzhadzhanashvili, I. Donauri, G. Deisadze, A. Kiasashvili, D. Dzneladze, A. Gviniashvili and others. In 1998, the Georgian and Russian Theater of the Young Spectator merged under the name of the Central Children's Theater named after N. Dumbadze. The theater began its joint activities in the former building of the Russian Youth Theater. Thanks to the Cartu Charitable Foundation and the theater management, the building was completely reconstructed.
