In Svaneti, a son named Betkil is born into a hunter’s family. Faithful to his family’s tradition, he grows up to become one of the finest hunters.
As time passes, Betkil meets the beautiful Tamar and marries her. As a sign of respect, Tamar’s father gifts Betkil a bow and arrows — a gift that will prove fateful. With this weapon, Betkil goes hunting and encounters mountain goats marked by Dali, the goddess of the hunt. The animals lure him into Dali’s realm, where he sees the goddess herself and falls in love with her.
When Betkil attempts to return home, he shares the destiny foretold for hunters trapped among the cliffs… In the end, Betkil himself becomes a marked mountain goat, destined to dwell forever in Dali’s domain.
