🏔️ In Svaneti, a boy named Betkil was born into a hunter’s family. Following the family tradition, he grew up to become one of the finest hunters himself.
❤️ As time passed, Betkil met the beautiful Tamar, whom he eventually married. As a sign of respect, Tamar’s father gave Betkil a bow and arrows — a gift that would ultimately prove fatal.
🏹 It was with this very bow that Betkil set out hunting and encountered wild goats marked by Dali, the goddess of the hunt. They lured him into Dali’s realm, where Betkil saw the goddess herself and fell in love with her.
⛰️ Eventually, Betkil tried to return to his home, but in doing so, he shared the fate of his ancestors — hunters forever trapped among the cliffs... Betkil himself was transformed into one of Dali’s marked wild goats, destined to remain in the goddess’s realm forever.
