Discover a unique new destination dedicated to contemporary Georgian art

Art Foundation Anagi (AFA) was established in September 2025, following the model of leading international corporate art foundations, bringing together representatives of Georgia's business and creative communities.

The foundation features several exhibition spaces showcasing contemporary Georgian art across different periods, artistic perspectives, and creative practices.

Lia Bagrationi — "The Earth is a Woman"

The foundation's main exhibition space is dedicated to Lia Bagrationi's solo exhibition, "The Earth is a Woman."

One of the artist's largest exhibitions to date spans three floors of the foundation, including the main curatorial hall, gallery, photo space, and amphitheater.

The exhibition brings together works from different stages of Bagrationi's career, offering a profound and multilayered exploration of identity through the lens of both womanhood and artistic practice. Personal experience, collective cultural memory, and archetypal imagery converge within a single visual narrative.

Through paintings, graphic works, ceramic objects, installations, textiles, and video art, the artist reinterprets different historical eras and cultural contexts from a deeply personal perspective.

Curators: Konstantine Bolkvadze, Mariam Shergelashvili, and Lia Bagrationi.

👤 About the Artist

Lia Bagrationi (b. 1957) is a contemporary Georgian multidisciplinary artist and Associate Professor at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Her works are held in both Georgian and international collections.

AFA – Sergo Kobuladze Studio

Visitors can also explore a curated reconstruction of the studio of renowned Georgian artist Sergo Kobuladze, offering insight into his creative environment and artistic legacy.

AFA Photo / AFA Cinema

The foundation's photography gallery and amphitheater regularly host exhibitions by Georgian and international artists, featuring painting, installations, graphic art, photography, and multimedia projects.

The program includes both solo and collaborative exhibitions representing the diverse landscape of contemporary Georgian art.

Mappa Cartographica

The space houses a private collection of historic maps and rare bibliographic editions.

The exhibition features exceptional European cartographic works depicting Georgia across different historical periods, alongside writings and visual chronicles by European travelers documenting medieval Georgia's culture and everyday life.
