Description

The course is led by Irakli Gabetsadze — an artist, graphic artist, portraitist, and master of etching, with many years of teaching experience. His works are exhibited both in Georgia and internationally.

The course “Anatomy for Artists” is designed for those who want to better understand the human body structure and bring more accuracy and realism to figure drawing.

During the course, participants will:
● study body volume and proportions
● understand the skeletal and muscular systems as the foundation of figure construction
● learn to convey rhythm and dynamics
● work with live models, references, and imagination

After completing the course, students will be able to:
● better understand the human body structure
● correctly construct and depict the figure
● more accurately represent bone and muscle forms
● develop their own artistic vision and style

Tbilisi was founded in the fifth century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Because of its location at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, and its proximity to the lucrative Silk Road, throughout history, Tbilisi has been a point of contention among various global powers. To this day, the city's location ensures its position as an important transit route for energy and trade projects. Tbilisi's history is reflected in its architecture, which is a mix of medieval, neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist, and Modern structures. Historically, Tbilisi has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, though its population is overwhelmingly Eastern Orthodox Christian.
