The exposition includes the period before the tragedy of April 9, the footage showing the crackdown on the demonstration, the world's response to the events unfolding on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. Photographs depicting the election of the Supreme Council of Georgia held on October 28, 1990 will also be presented. The exposition will end with a unique photo and documentary material depicting the Independence Day of Georgia announced on April 9, 1991 based on the referendum held on March 31, 1991 and its results.Photographs, posters, election ballots, books and other materials presented at the exhibition are preserved in the National Library's funds.

Description

On April 9, at 15:00, the exhibition "April 9 to April 9" will be held in the exhibition hall of the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia. The event is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the tragedy that happened on April 9, 1989 and the day of restoration of Georgia's independence.

The exhibition hall will present photos and documents that chronologically recreate the events that took place in Georgia in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
