You must have heard that actress Shelley Duvall has passed away. She is known worldwide for her role in Kubrick's "The Shining." We loved her for her role in Robert Altman's exquisite masterpiece, which we highly recommend to you.
"Popeye," a girl with no past, gets a job at a private desert resort. With genuine interest in everything around her, Popeye focuses her attention on Millie — the eccentric and talkative center employee who lives in her own illusory world, preoccupied with fashion, signature snack recipes, endless flirting, and planning dates with local men. Modest and awkward Popeye identifies the self-assured Millie as "the most perfect person she has ever met" and gradually, day by day, begins to adopt her individuality. Alongside Popeye and Millie, like a ghost, a third woman appears and disappears into the shadows — the strange artist Willie, silently painting the bottom of an empty pool with mysterious frescoes.
Altman dreamt of this film when his wife fell seriously ill. The director never fully understood his dream, but the next morning he decided to definitely make it into a film.
The film successfully toured festivals but was forgotten for 27 years: there were no screenings or releases during that time. Fortunately, we can watch it now; it's truly a masterpiece.
