At the lecture by ornithologist Denis Kitel, you will hear a unique story about how, in the 20 years since the appearance of the barn owl in Georgia (2003), the species has become common and is actively colonizing Kakheti. Denis has been studying the barn owl in Georgia for the second year, and before that, he worked with it in Belarus and Portugal. He studies how a predator such as the barn owl affects the local fauna. Currently has data on more than 3 thousand barn owl victims!
The ornithologist will demonstrate a small part of the learning process at a master class after the lecture. We will remove the pellets' bones and determine who they belong to. Quite a fun process! In civilized countries, they even teach this in biology lessons.
