"Snakes of Georgia. Diversity, evolution and characteristics"

The fauna of snakes in Georgia is quite rich — ranging from 22 to 25 species. In comparison, there are fewer than 40 species of snakes across the entire territory of Russia, from the Pacific Ocean to the Black Sea.

A professor from the Institute of Ecology at Ilia State University will talk about snakes in general and about the snakes of Georgia in particular. You will learn which snakes are harmless and which ones require caution.
