You are invited to a Jane Austen–style tea party
At Miss Austen’s Tea Party you will be transported into her era.
The event is part of the festival dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the birth of Jane Austen (author of Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and others).
You will learn about:
• the etiquette of England’s early 19th-century high society;
• amusing stories about the origins of various traditions — for instance, what should be poured first: milk or tea? And what did different British writers think about it?
• how proper visiting etiquette worked and how to use this knowledge when reading Austen’s novels;
• and you will even try to become a lady or a gentleman of Jane Austen’s social circle!
For all guests:
• English-style tea
• Traditional tea-time treats
• A dessert from Galaxy Book
