Why does art in the 21st century so often seem “too much” — too loud, too personal, too political?
At the lecture, we will explore what has come to replace postmodernism, how to understand provocative artworks (from a shark in formaldehyde to “museum scandals”), what “new sincerity” means, and why artists increasingly speak about power, war, identity, and media.
The lecture will be given by Vadim Nasledov, PhD in History, lecturer and educator.
