Wassily Kandinsky was an artist who radically rethought the language of painting. In his works, color and line gain independent resonance, and art becomes a means of expressing inner states and emotional experience.
In this lecture, we will discuss how Kandinsky came to art and the role Claude Monet played in that journey; trace his path from Russia to Europe and his search for a unique artistic language; and explore how experiences beyond art shaped his thinking and were reflected in his theoretical writings.
The lecture will be delivered by Liana Lashkhia, art historian and independent researcher.
