Kandahar, Afghanistan. During the repair of a combat vehicle, a U.S. Army unit comes under Taliban artillery fire. Only a combat engineer survives, suffering a severe leg injury and losing his younger brother in the battle.

Two years later, he arrives in Colorado at a Ranger training camp, determined to pass the grueling selection process and fulfill his fallen brother’s dream. During the final test, a group of Ranger candidates equipped with special blank-fire weapons — led by the same engineer now appointed as their commander — encounters a massive combat robot of unknown origin that engages them in battle.
