Vera Brezhneva

Vera Brezhneva is a celebrated Ukrainian singer, actress, and television presenter who rose to fame as one of the most prominent pop icons in Eastern Europe. She launched her music career in 2002 after being discovered at a concert, joining the phenomenally successful Ukrainian girl group VIA Gra. Replaced as a main vocalist and given her stage name by producers, she became part of what fans call the group's "golden lineup," recording major chart-topping albums like Stop! Snyato! and Biologiya (2003) and solidifying her status as a mainstream star and cultural sex symbol before leaving the group in 2007.

Embarking on a highly successful solo career, she achieved massive commercial success with her debut solo album Lyubov spasyot mir (2010), earning multiple Golden Gramophone Awards with mega-hits like the title track and her famous collaboration with Dan Balan, "Lepestkami slyoz", followed by her sophomore album VERVERA in 2015.Beyond music, she built a prolific career as a television presenter and actress, starring in the box-office hit romantic comedy franchise Love in the Big City and the popular Yolki movie series, while also lending her influence to humanitarian causes by serving as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for UNAIDS since 2014. She shortened her stage name to Vira and completely transitioned to releasing music in the Ukrainian language, a shift marked by her collaborative single "Vyshyvanka" (2022) and her emotional 2023 extended play Dyakuyu (Thank You). Remaining a resilient and multifaceted figure in pop culture, she continues to release new singles like "Ty" and tour internationally, balancing her musical reinvention with high-profile platform advocacy.
