On March 9, the first concert of pianist Valerian Shiukashvili’s new project, “Valerian Shiukashvili — Generation”, will take place at the Grand Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
The event will consist of two parts.
In the first part, 12 outstanding young pianists from different regions of Georgia — winners of various music competitions — will perform Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s “The Seasons” (Op.37a).
In the second part, Georgian virtuoso pianist Valerian Shiukashvili will perform Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition.”
Future concerts within the project will feature other successful young musicians, and each program will be unique.
The project aims to help young Georgian musicians adapt to the grand stage and gain experience performing in front of large audiences. For many years, Valerian Shiukashvili has been actively involved in the country’s musical life — both as a soloist and as the founder of several music festivals and competitions. His contribution to discovering and shaping the next generation of artists is remarkable. This project is dedicated entirely to their development and the building of a successful musical path.
