This course will introduce participants to the essence of Georgian folk music, its core characteristic and the main mark of its uniqueness — polyphony, with its various expressions across different regions of Georgia. The course will also explore the particularities of Georgian traditional musical thinking, the forms of traditional performance, and the expressive manner in both mountain and lowland areas.
Lectures will be held in presentation format, with photo, video, and audio materials; live performances may also take place.
