Truso Gorge: Hike and Excursion with a Biologist
If you haven’t yet visited Truso Gorge, now is the perfect time to fill that gap — join us! Also known as the “Valley of Narzan,” Truso is an incredible place. On our hike, we’ll immerse ourselves in the world of abandoned Ossetian villages and pastures, take in the stunning beauty of the Greater Caucasus, and encounter over 60 mineral springs, a bottomless mineral lake (yes, you can drink from it!), and the travertines — a hallmark of Truso.
We’ll not only see all this but also explore how it was formed. With our guide, biologist Alexey Sivukhin, we’ll get to know the unique alpine and subalpine plant life — species you won’t find in or around Tbilisi. The gorge, located at 2000 meters above sea level, provides completely unique natural conditions.
As for the route — it’s long, but easy, with virtually no elevation changes.
