Three Colors: Red

We are watching the final part of the cult trilogy by Krzysztof Kieślowski. All the films in the trilogy are independent, so even if you haven't seen the first two, it's not a problem.

The Three Colors trilogy is a free reflection on the slogan of the French Revolution, liberty-equality-fraternity.

Valentine, a student at the University of Geneva who works as a photo model, accidentally hits an elderly judge's dog. This is how she meets an old, cynical man who leads a rather closed-off life and spends his free time listening to his neighbors' phone conversations. Despite the age difference, they develop a liking for each other.

After the premiere of the film in Cannes, Mr. Kieślowski announced his departure from cinema, and, indeed, since then he has only made a few short films.

The film received the César Award for Best Soundtrack by Zbigniew Preisner, who composed the music for the entire trilogy.
