Traveler in Africa and Nepal

On March 28, ibis Styles Old Tbilisi will host a club meeting organized by Mogzauri Travel Club with mountaineer and photographer Gia Tortladze.

This event will serve as an introductory and preparatory meeting for upcoming expeditions to Nepal (April) and Africa (December) led by him.

Gia Tortladze is the first Georgian mountaineer to conquer the highest peaks of North and South America — McKinley (Denali) and Aconcagua, as well as Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro. He is also a recipient of the Royal Order of Nepal.

During the meeting, he will share his experiences traveling across Africa and Nepal, present unique photographs from his personal archive, and reveal:

• why he received a royal award from the Prince of Nepal,

• why he has traveled to Nepal 49 times,

• and how long ago he lost count of his journeys to Africa.
