Far from young, but still attractive, Blanche DuBois comes to New Orleans to visit her pregnant sister Stella, who lives with her husband Stanley in the local slums. Blanche tells her sister that she is broke, left her job and has nowhere to live and nothing to live on. Stanley, the embodiment of naturalness and rudeness, immediately disliked her for her addiction to alcohol and inappropriate coquetry.
