Tour to Uplistsikhe, Kvakhvreli and Bagineti

Uplistsikhe is one of the oldest cities in Georgia

On August 23, we’ll travel there to wander through ancient caves and discover how people once lived in this remarkable place.

The city is carved directly into the rock and still preserves a unique sense of antiquity, with stone streets, tunnels and the remains of both pagan and Christian structures. We’ll see a medieval Armenian church carved into the rock, visit an abandoned village and walk through picturesque hills.

Throughout the trip, we will be accompanied by Vlasi Vatsadze — Doctor of Historical Sciences, former director of the Uplistsikhe Museum and a specialist in the region’s pre-Christian history.
