Driven by a haunting scenography and virtuosic movement, this creation transcends the traditional codes of ballet to deliver a sensory, almost shamanic, experience. Dewey Dell asserts its unique signature here, at the crossroads of experimentation and raw emotion. The Rite of Spring becomes a total theatrical act, where each movement explores our connection to nature, the body, and collective rituals.
Dewey Dell is an Italian dance and performing arts company founded in 2006. It brings together the creative energies and individual visions of Teodora Castellucci, Agata Castellucci, Vito Matera and musician Demetrio Castellucci within a cohesive and consistent artistic practice. Their choreographic research — continually inspired and nourished by the visual heritage of art history and the behavioural patterns of the animal world — follows an independent path through archetypes and the imagery of antiquity, reinterpreting and transforming them into a distinctive contemporary stage language.
