The Materialist

Despite the title and the protagonist’s intentions, this film is quiet, touching, and profound. For the second movie in a row, Celine Song remains true to her thoughtful and warm tone, so Materialist will be especially appealing to those who already fell in love with Song’s brilliant Past Lives (2023).
