Millie gets a live-in job as a maid for the wealthy Winchester family, who reside in a secluded countryside mansion. Recently released on parole, she desperately needs this position, but building a relationship with the mistress of the house, Nina, becomes increasingly difficult — Nina seems unstable and constantly finds reasons to criticize her.
