What happens if you fall into a black hole?

Nothing! Describing what actually happens would take us beyond the limits of our imagination, because the real physics of these objects is more fascinating than any science fiction.

The lecture will be given by Kirill Maslennikov, an astronomer at the Pulkovo Observatory, astrophysicist, and Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. He spent several years observing black holes in the centres of galaxies and will explain how EHT telescopes and LIGO detectors work, as well as how the ideas of Einstein and Schwarzschild continue to shape modern research.
