The Crabcatcher & Selected Shorts

Join us at FOMO this Sunday for a special evening with filmmaker Victor Liberov, who is bringing his work to Tbilisi to share his independent shorts with the Georgian film community. Across three very different short films, Victor explores loneliness, memory, absurdity and the strange ways people search for meaning in an increasingly disconnected world.

The program opens with THE CRABCATCHER, Victor's acclaimed directorial debut. Nearly forty and adrift in a foreign country, Vili has lost his connection to the people and places around him. The only ritual he still clings to is catching crabs in the sea, holding onto a childhood belief that if you try hard enough, you'll eventually find what you're looking for.

The evening also includes MULTICOMPLEXITY, an experimental collection of short philosophical sketches balancing humour, melancholy and absurdity, alongside a special hush hush surprise screening that he finished this year and is pleased to premiere exclusively to our local audience. 

Following the screenings, Victor will join us for a live audience discussion and Q&A about making independent films, finding audiences on the festival circuit, and the creative journey behind his work.
