An inner dialogue unfolding in the human mind and a struggle with oneself—based on ten plays by Wilfried Happel—become a decisive path toward overcoming suicidal intent and continuing the fight for existence. Deep loneliness and isolation within an alienated and manipulated reality can lead to a sense of life’s meaninglessness, from which suicide may appear as one possible escape. A man, like a woman, experiences profound loneliness. For him, creating a play and allowing a woman into his life is not only an ambition as a playwright, but also a desperate attempt to fill his own existential void and escape solitude. The woman becomes not merely an object to be saved, but a field of projection—through whom the man seeks to find the meaning of existence.
