The educational program 'The Adventure of the Georgian Alphabet,' offered by the Tbilisi Museums Union – Ilia Chavchavadze Literary Memorial Museum, introduces you to the history of the creation and development of one of the world's oldest scripts—the three writing systems of the Georgian alphabet, which are inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The educational program aims to promote and foster appreciation of the Georgian language and its script. Along with the history of the development of the Georgian script, participants will learn about the background of the Georgian language reform, the creation of Georgian typefaces, and the oldest examples of printed books. They will evaluate the unique features of the Georgian alphabet, discuss writing systems used around the world, and complete an independent hands-on practical activity.
