"The Passion of Joan of Arc" in Art.Cinema

In this film, the trial of Joan of Arc, which actually lasted a whole year, is compressed into one single day. On this day, she is repeatedly interrogated by the spiritual court, she is constantly threatened with torture, she is deprived of the sacrament, unless she confesses to witchcraft. Finally, when faced with being burned alive, she recants, but then recants her recantation and is publicly executed.
