“The Search for Life and Mind in the Universe”: lecture by Vladimir Surdin

For many years, astronomers have been searching and continue to search for signs of extraterrestrial life on the planets of the solar system. But now the search space is expanding: thousands of planets have been discovered around neighboring stars, and some of them are similar to Earth. Can you see signs of life on them? And if this life is intelligent, it can tell about itself. Various methods were invented to communicate with aliens; for many years only radio gave hope of establishing contact with brothers in mind, but now other methods have been found. What opportunities are there for this today, in what language are we going to communicate with them, what messages have already been sent and what has been received? We'll talk about this in lecture.
