Meeting with the artist and the curator of the exhibition

The exhibition space presents the works of the artist, which he created during his almost 40 years of creativity. Irina Popiashvili is an art critic and curator.Since 2013, he has been the dean of the School of Visual Arts, Architecture and Design of the Free University and a university professor. In 2013-2017 he was the founder and director of Popiashvili Gvaberidze Window Project. Since 2017, he is the co-founder of Kunsthalle Tbilisi. From March to November 2012, he was the rector of Tbilisi State Academy. From 2001 to 2012, he was the co-owner of Newman Popiashvili Gallery. He is the curator of many exhibitions, including the 1999 Georgian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale; 2004 Farajanov exhibition at Zimmerli Art Museum; 2012 - Reframing the 80s, Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery; 2018 - "Carlo Katcharava Today", Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery. Keti Kapanadze lives and works in Georgia and Germany. He graduated from Tbilisi State Art Academy (1984-1990). Katie has been living in Germany since 2000. In her work, she explores the theme of identity and the role of the female artist in society. He participated in such key group exhibitions as the 1997 IFA exhibition From Painting to Photography; In 1999 After the Wall, Moderna Museet, Stockholm, in 2009 Born in Georgia, Cobra Museum in Amsterdam, in 2012 Revising the 80s in the National Gallery, Tbilisi. In 2018, 12 women went missing in the Silk Museum in Tbilisi. In 2016, Kettler Verlag published Keti Kapanadze's monograph What is Love. In 2007, he was in residence at the Cité des Arts in Paris. His works are in the collections of Bochum Museum, Stuttgart State Gallery, Kunsthalle Göppingen and Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum.
