Description

“The Barber of Seville” is a puppet opera specially created for the youngest theatergoers.
It’s a magical fusion of magnificent music, unique performers, and extraordinary puppets!
This is the first puppet opera for children ever produced in Georgia!

Seville is a sunny, vibrant region of Spain, home to many clever and witty people — including Figaro, a barber by profession.
This clever Seville barber brings us a fun and romantic story of love between Count Almaviva and the beautiful Rosina.
With Figaro’s help, and despite the family's opposition, their love triumphs in a joyful wedding...

Because in fairy tales, love and kindness always win.

Location

Nodar Dumbadze Theater (ნოდარ დუმბაძის თეატრი)
In 1928 Alexander Takaishvili created the Georgian Theater of the Young Spectator. The premiere of the first performance "Fritz Bauer" (N. Sats) took place on 11 November. It was followed by performances: "Robin Hood" (S. Zayatsky), "The Man in Black Glasses" (V. Kurdyumov), "Hiawatha" (N. Ognev) and others. Spectators watched the performances with great interest. The success of these performances is the merit of the artists: G. Kuprashvili, T. Tvaliashvili, G. Darispanashvili, M. Ergneli, a little later: V. Areshidze, I. Ninua, A. Kachkachishvili, N. Sirbiladze, D. Tskhakaia, N. Khorava, M. Dzhadzhanashvili, I. Donauri, G. Deisadze, A. Kiasashvili, D. Dzneladze, A. Gviniashvili and others. In 1998, the Georgian and Russian Theater of the Young Spectator merged under the name of the Central Children's Theater named after N. Dumbadze. The theater began its joint activities in the former building of the Russian Youth Theater. Thanks to the Cartu Charitable Foundation and the theater management, the building was completely reconstructed.
