Sentimental Value fully lives up to its title: although it deals with family and historical trauma, it is ultimately a comforting, therapeutic story. At its center is an elderly film director, living cinema legend Gustav Borg, and his adult daughters. Borg dreams of casting them in his new film—without first attempting to rebuild a genuine human connection with them. Starring Stellan Skarsgård, known for his work with another Trier, Lars von Trier.
